Violent Colorado Ranks Highest in Criminal Victimization Rate

Out of the 22 most populated states, Colorado has had the HIGHEST violent victimization rates for 2017-2019, according to a March 2023 study published by the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Colorado's violent victimization rates are significantly higher than the U.S. rate.

As per the study, violent victimization includes:

• Rape or sexual assault

• Robbery

• Aggravated assault

• Simple assault
